For +Pluswerk, T3CON25 was once again a highlight in the calendar. As a partner sponsor with our own stand and special accessibility formats, which we implemented together with Incluthon, we were close to the questions and challenges that our customers in the DACH region are currently facing.
The conference combines expert sessions, workshops, certifications and direct exchange with the TYPO3 Company and Association. Traditionally, it ends with the Award Gala, where the best TYPO3 projects are honored in various categories. Time for us to look back on three intensive days.

TYPO3 Award "Day of the Monument"
In Düsseldorf, we were able to celebrate a special success with our Vienna location Earlybird: The project "Tag des Denkmals Österreich - Heritage Day Austria" was honored with the TYPO3 Award 2025 in the category "Culture". More information in our full article.

Community Day: Digital Sovereignty and TYPO3 v14
The Community Day started with a clear signal: the federal government is investing 108 million euros in the new GSB11 based on TYPO3. Digital sovereignty was not discussed in theory, but presented as a strategic reality - from Schleswig-Holstein's own open source projects to the federal web infrastructure.
In comparison to WordPress and Drupal, it became clear that all three systems carry the European open source idea within them, but TYPO3 uniquely combines the demands of enterprise, governance standards and free licensing at federal level. It is precisely this triad that makes TYPO3 the central infrastructure in the public sector.
The highlight of the day followed with Benni Mack's presentation of TYPO3 v14: a completely modernized backend, a better user experience for editors, new integration options and official themes. The release shows where the journey is heading: less complexity for editors and more flexibility for integrators.

Solution Day: Practice, content and AI
The Solution Day convincingly demonstrated how TYPO3 can be effective even in complex environments. The keynotes ranged from AI-supported SEO and content security to semantic analysis, as presented by Cyril Wolfgangel in his presentation on structured linking of existing content - an aha moment for many marketing teams.
One focus was clearly on AI strategies. Joost de Valk explained why GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is 90% SEO and 10% PR and that high-quality content remains the decisive factor even in the age of AI. At the same time, panels showed how AI is changing workflows without taking over editorial responsibility.

wedi GmbH: Happy Path in practice
On Wednesday afternoon, +Pluswerk was represented with the session "On the way to the Happy Path: The wedi website story". Here, Kai Storjohann (Digital Marketing Manager wedi GmbH) and Markus Buff (Managing Director +Pluswerk Magdeburg), moderated by Jens Krumm (+Pluswerk CEO), showed how the Happy Path method led them to their goal.
Wedi GmbH, based in Emsdetten, Westphalia, is a leading manufacturer and system provider of innovative, directly tileable building boards and shower systems for bathrooms and wet rooms. The company offers holistic system solutions for new builds and refurbishments worldwide and has just over 500 employees.
The "Happy Path" describes the ideal path of a target group to the desired action, which is free of friction, detours and distractions. It structures complex requirements and creates a clear target image for each persona. It was precisely this approach that we demonstrated in the session: how it helped wedi to organize chaos and gain focus.
At the beginning of the collaboration with +Pluswerk, the wedi online presence consisted of a TYPO3 v9 instance that was managed by one employee. Following the modernization, the wedi homepage is now managed by a team of editors and product specialists who can implement changes quickly and independently.
The happy path work resulted in clear user stories, a structured stakeholder process and noticeably better product filters. Kai Storjohann described how workshops, miro boards and open reviews accelerated collaboration with +Pluswerk and created a new internal understanding of content and processes.

Agency Day: Fit for the future
Agency Day had a clear question: How can agencies continue to thrive now and in the future? The answers: with clear positioning, better visibility and scalable structures. In his morning session, Karim Marucchi showed that Europe is facing an open source renaissance and that TYPO3 can play a key role in this.
This was followed on the Core Stage by Peter Pröll on organizational resilience, Lisa Mo Wagner's plea against blind outsourcing to AI and Marco Klawonn's look at content in e-commerce. The talks combined strategy, team leadership, content and commerce to create a clear picture of the future for our industry: from "executor" to "partner" at eye level.
Parallel to this, sessions on accessibility, learning, tender processes and analytics set important accents. The topic of digital sovereignty remained particularly present and was reinforced by contributions from Mathias Bolt Lesniak and Jeffrey McGuire, among others. The day showed that agencies need to think more broadly and take on more responsibility.

Award Gala: Excellence, community and culture
The TYPO3 Award Gala transformed the Areal Böhler into an evening full of energy and live music. Between Sting and The Police covers of "Reggatta de Blanc", standing ovations and the charming moderation of Emily Whigham and Matt Beadle, it became clear how lively and diverse the community is. Projects that have created real impact were celebrated here.
The +Pluswerk was able to accept a TYPO3 Award in the "Culture" category with our Vienna location Earlybird. Surrounded by long-time companions, partners and new faces, you could feel why TYPO3 is more than just a CMS - it is a network of people and convictions. You can find out more about the gala here.

Conclusion: Into the future with TYPO3
Behind the scenes, it became clear what T3CON25 is really all about: a committed community and countless people who put their heart and soul into TYPO3. Whether discussions with TYPO3 GmbH, spontaneous networking or encounters with international guests - you could sense a spirit of optimism, cohesion and genuine optimism for the future everywhere.
For us, T3CON25 does not end with the gala, because many topics will continue to accompany us: digital sovereignty, barrier-free experiences and the question of how we can create sustainable platforms for companies and institutions with TYPO3.
