Personal, open and committed
The warm-up event on Thursday evening, which was held at the Ops One office in Zurich, kicked things off. The community met for a relaxed warm-up in the warm summer evening weather. Of course, +Pluswerk CEO Jens Krumm was also there and enjoyed the open exchange. The only charming challenge for some of the participants from Germany was the Schwitzerdütsch.
Friday and Saturday were then dominated by the barcamp format: the participants themselves determined the content, held sessions or simply listened. This year, around 60 people attended, a small but particularly committed group. A highlight in Zurich is definitely the start of the day: freshly baked croissants 🥐 and fantastic coffee on the terrace of the youth hostel provided energy every morning.

The topics at the center
+Pluswerk CEO Jens Krumm brought two topics with him: Firstly, the topic of accessibility on the web. For once, his presentation was not about legal requirements and statutory regulations. Accessibility offers great advantages to all providers and users of digital services: Greatly improved usability with clear structures, easy-to-read texts, images that are easy to grasp and not too small, and simple navigation elements ensure that websites and apps are intuitive to use and offer a positive user experience.
As a special extra, we had brought along our self-developed "Accessibility Memo" - a simple card game with important terms on the topic, nicely packaged in small "sacks". In the second session, Krumm presented the SEO tool Screaming Frog, a real insider tip that offers a large number of functions even in the free version and shows many possibilities for improvement with little effort. The tool can be used to quickly identify 404 errors, oversized images, incorrect redirects and dead links, among other things.
The variety of other topics was also impressive: monitoring, testing, templating, AI, content strategy, digital asset management and even the question "Can you have too many websites?" was controversially discussed in one session. The crowning glory of the camp was the presentation karaoke on Saturday. Daniel Fau, Mathias Bolt Lesniak and other brave souls took up the challenge of commenting on completely unprepared PowerPoint slides to entertain the audience.

Conclusion: We will be back!
For us, the 2025 edition of TYPO3 Camp Switzerland was once again a complete success: the combination of technical depth, strategic discussions and a real community atmosphere is rare and therefore so valuable. We shared our knowledge, gained new impulses, cultivated contacts and met exciting people. The sessions were inspiring, the discussions open and honest, the evenings delicious and sociable - what more could you want! Thanks to all participants, to the organization team, to OPS ONE for the great start - and to the entire community. See you in 2026 at the latest!
