HYPO NOE Landesbank is Austria's largest and oldest regional mortgage bank with more than 130 years of experience. It combines the functions of a reliable commercial bank, a stable Landesbank and a specialized mortgage bank. Its business model is geared towards long-term stability and sustainable growth.
With a strong presence in Lower Austria and Vienna, HYPO NOE operates primarily in Austria and Germany, as well as selectively in other EU markets. The focus is on financing infrastructure, residential construction projects and large-scale real estate developments. Private customers receive personal advice primarily on residential construction financing.

Project Summary
HYPO NOE's existing website was struggling with a number of challenges. The outdated, proprietary CMS from Magina led to slow development cycles and made customization difficult. In addition, long loading times and confusing navigation impaired user-friendliness, which had a negative impact on the SEO ranking and the findability of the content.
To solve these problems, HYPO NOE decided to work with the +Pluswerk Vienna site. The aim was to significantly improve the performance of the entire website, optimize user guidance and ensure long-term technical support. The relaunch was also intended to strengthen the bank's employer branding strategy and make the career platform more attractive to applicants.
Faster, more accessible and future-proof
With the recent relaunch of the careers website in 2025, HYPO NOE was able to further strengthen its online presence as an employer and significantly improve usability for interested parties and applicants. This target group can now find relevant information more quickly, benefit from intuitive navigation and can apply online more easily. The optimized performance of the site also ensures shorter loading times, which leads to a better user experience and lower bounce rates.
The improved accessibility of the entire website also enables HYPO NOE to reach a broader target group and fulfill its social responsibility. At the same time, the bank benefits from stronger employer branding and greater visibility in search engines. The TYPO3 upgrade ensures that the platform remains secure, stable and expandable in the long term - with the flexibility to easily implement future digital requirements.
Use cases
Enterprise website for a bank
HYPO NOE's previous website was technologically outdated and based on a proprietary CMS that severely limited flexibility and further development. The site was slow, poorly structured and not optimally optimized for mobile devices. This led to high bounce rates, an inefficient application process and lower visibility in search engines.
By upgrading the entire homepage to TYPO3 version 11 with Extended Long-Term Support (ELTS), HYPO NOE received a high-performance, secure and scalable solution. The upgrade closed security gaps, improved browser compatibility and made it easier to maintain content. Thanks to ELTS, the bank also receives security updates over several years, which offers long-term planning security.
Improving accessibility
Digital accessibility was a central component of the project in order to enable equal participation for all users. Many modern career platforms are not fully accessible, meaning that people with disabilities cannot easily find out about career opportunities or apply online. This was also the case with HYPO NOE's previous website.
The standards of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) were consistently implemented during the relaunch. Among other things, this means improved keyboard navigation, alternative texts for images and an optimized display for screen readers. In addition, the design has been adapted so that the content is also more accessible for users with visual impairments or cognitive limitations. This not only improves inclusivity, but also strengthens HYPO NOE's positioning as a modern and socially responsible bank.
