As a sponsor of the camp and part of the open source community, +Pluswerk was of course also there. Our CEO Jens Krumm traveled to London especially to set new impulses together with TYPO3 developers, marketing specialists and open source enthusiasts.
TYPO3 is still a relatively unknown content management system in the British Isles. An important part of the event was therefore to determine the position of TYPO3 on the European and global CMS market and to demonstrate the technical advantages of the system.

Community spirit in the heart of London
The TYPO3 Camp took place at the MSQ headquarters in the middle of the creative district "Covent Garden" - once again, many thanks for the hospitality. A total of 7 sessions covered topics such as digital sovereignty, open source and cloud-native TYPO3 installations.
During the breaks between the sessions, there was a lot of discussion, laughter and shop talk. It became clear that it's about more than just technology: it's about shared values such as openness, transparency and collaboration. The evening before in the classic British pub "The Nags Head" was also very enjoyable.
Talks and insights
TYPO3 Brand Ambassador Tom Warwick opened the camp with his session "Why I Love TYPO3". Particularly impressive was the story from 2014, when the TYPO3 system helped the Welsh police to communicate securely during the NATO summit in Wales despite hacker attacks.
Owen Priestley (Liquid Light) then gave an exciting presentation on the positioning of TYPO3 in an international competition in which WordPress, Drupal & Co. have long been established. His message: In order to market TYPO3 successfully, you should focus on competence, honesty and quality.
Further inspiration came from Ruth Cheesly from the Mautic project. She spoke about open source marketing automation and the topic of "Who owns your customer data?". Her appeal for more digital sovereignty fitted in perfectly with the current debate on data sovereignty in the European context.
Finally, TYPO3 CEO Daniel Fau rounded off the day with an exciting insight into the use of TYPO3 by the German government in the context of the recently awarded TYPO3-based government CMS "Government Site Builder 11" - another example of the European idea behind TYPO3.

Thank you, London - see you soon! 🇬🇧
The first TYPO3 Camp UK was a milestone: for the first time, the community met on British soil. The mixture of exciting presentations, open discussions and genuine community spirit proved on site that TYPO3 connects people - across national borders and languages.
It was a special pleasure for +Pluswerk to support this event as a sponsor. The energy, exchange and cohesion in London showed us that we are on the right path: from a strong community in Central Europe to a genuine European open source movement.
The next meeting place is already fixed: at the end of November we will continue at T3CON in Düsseldorf from November 25 - 27, 2025 - see you there?
